The founder of Final Expense Solutions has been planning funeral and final arrangements for over 20 years as an insurance advisor and as a funeral professional. During that time he has witnessed many families on the worst day of their lives, struggle with the hardships of making difficult decisions and having to spend considerable money on funeral and cemetery arrangements.

The only solution for easing the hardships resulting from a loved one’s death is to prepare ahead of time, yet only 2 out of 10 people do this.

Some people do not preplan because they don’t know where to start the process. "Do I call the lawyer, accountant, funeral director, cemetery director or insurance agent?"  Often people don't want to think about dying. Some people simply do not realize the hardships that will be faced by their loved ones on that day if they haven't preplanned. For some people the reason is simple procrastination: “I’m busy, do I want to drive to visit funeral homes and cemeteries today when I can do it another time?” The most common reason people do not prepare ahead of time is money. These arrangements can be costly and often the monthly payment plans have a high interest rate or a high cost of insurance which makes paying over time less attractive.

Often people simply write their final wishes out on a piece of paper and leave it with their wills. Some people purchase funeral insurance off the TV, internet or from an advertisement about the 'Shortfall to Canada Pension' they seen in the mail. These are not adequate solutions because they only solve part of the problem.  People feel as much stress having to make difficult decisions on the day they lose a loved one as they do having to pay for unexpected funeral bills.
